  • Demonstrating a solid background in firearm safety and shooting skills (either acquired through experience or classroom training) based on the appropriate discipline
  • Successfully completing the appropriate NRA instructor examination, requiring a pass grade of 90% or higher.

Refuse To Be A Victim® This course gives you the tools you need to help protect yourself and your family from today's criminal. This is a crime prevention and personal safety seminar, including information on:

This is not a firearms course.

This course will develop NRA Certified Range Safety Officers who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitudes essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operation, including information on:

  • Range Safety Briefings
  • Range Inspections and Rules

Personal Protection in the Home Learn the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for virtually every aspect of personal protection in the home. (Must be proficient with a handgun. Not for beginners.) Information including:

  • Firearms, Self-Defense and the Law

Home Firearm Safety & Cleaning Course Learn the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for the safe handling and storage of firearms in the home. An emphasis on cleaning and maintenance of firearms will also be conducted, including information on:
  • The basic elements of gun safety - attitude, knowledge and skill
  • The fundamental rules of safe gun handling
  • How to identify and unload different types of firearms
  • The different types and uses of ammunition
  • Factors for evaluating gun storage options
  • How to clean and care for guns
