Course Dates
FIRST Steps (Firearm Instruction, Responsibility and Safety Training) is designed for new shooters. This course provides hands-on orientation to the students' personally owned pistol (however, if the student does not own a pistol, one will be provided for training) in as little as three hours, including a one-hour range session. 3-4 hours  
Basic Course The NRA Basic Firearm Course teaches students the principles of safe handling and shooting. The learning objectives of the course include, but are not limited to:
  • firearm parts and their operation
  • ammunition and its function
  • shooting fundamentals
  • how to select, clean, and store a firearm
  • review of various activities available to further shooting skills

Personal Protection in
the Home
Learn the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for virtually every aspect of personal protection in the home. (Must be proficient with a handgun. Not for beginners.) Information including:
  • The basic elements of gun safety - attitude, knowledge and skill
  • Mental Preparation
  • Developing Defensive Shooting Skills
  • Firearms, Self-Defense and the Law
  • Selecting Firearms
  • Ammunition and Accessories for Personal Protection
  • Safe Storage of Firearms
